Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a member for my child to participate?

There is no membership required to participate in the Summer Sports Camp.

My child does not have much sports experience, is camp right for him/her?

The Summer Sports Camp is designed for children of all skill level and experience. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability. This will provide each camper with a positive camp experience, regardless of their sports background.

Does my child need to bring any equipment?

All sports equipment will be provided by GaREAT. Each child is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers and bring a water bottle. For more information on what to bring, please click here.

Are the camp headquarters secure?

The camp headquarters will be secure and restricted to the Summer Sports Camp participants and staff only.

Can my child bring personal items such as an iPod or MP3 player?

Personal items are allowed for the camper to use during his/her leisure time. However, it is not recommended that campers bring expensive electronics to camp.

Should my child bring a cell phone in case of emergency?

Like other eletronic equipment, cell phones are not recommended. In case of injury or emergency, our camp staff will contact the parent or guardian listed on the Medical Treatment Form. If you need to get in touch with your son or daughter, please contact GaREAT and our staff will put you in touch with him/her.

What if my child misses a day of camp?

All camps are paid by the week. No refund will be given if a day of camp is missed. If your child misses significant time due to sickness, we will discuss reimbursement on an individual basis.

What if my child does not like what is on the lunch menu?

Unfortunately there are no substitutions to the lunch menu. If your child does not like what is on the menu for a particular day, it is recommended that you pack their lunch.
