Team Selection

GVA (GaREAT Volleyball Academy) has a staff of coaches who have been IMPACT certified and experienced at the college, high school, junior high, and club levels of coaching. Our team of coaches will observe and rate players at tryouts, then collaborate for team selections. The Club Director will inform all players of their team selection within three days of tryouts. Players will have 10 days to accept or decline participation in GVA. Players who have not been selected for a team will also receive notification and be encouraged to join our Junior Academy development program.

Levels of Play

GVA will be providing a Regional level of play for each age group. This year, GVA will have an American level of play within the 14s, 15s, 16s and 17s age groups. The American level will do the same amount of travel as the Regional level, but they will be playing at a more competitive skill level. American team members will consist of highly skilled players that are ready for the next level of play.

Level of Play Description
Under At the three youngest age groups (10s, 11s, 12s), OVR volleyball does not differentiate between Regional, American and National teams. These groups are simply called "Under" teams.
Regional Regional teams is the main classification for most club teams. Regional teams are offered in 13s-18s.
American American teams are more competitive than Regional teams, but do not wish to compete at the National level. American teams are offered in 14s-17s.
National National teams are intended to consist of more talented players who wish to play at a higher skill and tactical level, occasionally competing out-of-region or at the national level. National teams are offered in 13s-18s.
